NORTH ADAMS, Mass -- Lawrence M. White, 52, of 45 Spring Street, died Thursday morning, Feb. 5, 2004 at North Adams Regional Hospital shortly after being stricken at home.Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 21, 1951, the son of Charles and Evelyn Roberts White, he attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School.A chef, Mr. White worked in restaurants throughout New England and at one time owned and operated his own restaurant in Hyannis, Mass.He and his wife, the former Gail L. Hutchinson, whom he married on August 8, 1971, had made their home in Bennington, Vt. many years and had resided in North Adams for the past few years.Mr. White enjoyed cooking, movies, music, and spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife of North Adams; two sons, Eric M. White of Bennington and Gabriel White of Walden, N.Y.; two brothers, Alan and Richard White, and one sister, Susan Goodrich, all of Berkshire County, and three grandchildren.Lawrence Michael “Larry” White will be remembered in a celebration of his life at a later date. A formal burial will take place this spring at a time and place to be announced. Larry will be remembered as enjoying the time he spent with his family. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra, and Samantha White, and his daughter’s in law Maria White of Bennington and Sara White of Walden. The Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, is in charge of arrangements.
