A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, for Lawrence Junior Collins, 80, Glencoe, who passed away Monday, June 11, 2007. The Rev. Walter Phillips officiated. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel was in charge.Mr. Collins graduated from Emma Sansom High School. Goodyear was his last employer. He was talented in many skills, especially jewelry and knife making. He loved all sports.He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel Collins and Minnie Piles; daughter, Rebecca Jacobs; granddaughter, Bridgett White; and sister, Ruby McCarver.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ada Coline Collins; daughters, Eva Sue Mitchell and Candy Phillips; grandson, Chris Smith; granddaughters, Rebecca Abernathy and Pam Brown; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Cleveland (Shirley) Brown; sister-in-law, Joan Parker; brother-in-law, Bobby McCarver; and several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
