LAUREL EARL DAVIS WHEELER, IN Laurel Earl Davis, 85, of Wheeler, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at the VNA Hospice Center. He was born August 25, 1923 in Sedley, Indiana, the son of Howard and Erma (Gott) Davis. On October 8, 1950 in Wheeler, he married Mary Ruth Bivens, who survives in Wheeler. He was a WWII Army Veteran, where he served in the artillery and as a medic. Laurel worked as an instrument man at the Citco Oil Refinery and the parts dept. at Christenson Chevrolet in Highland. He was a member of the Wheeler United Methodist Church. Surviving is a son, Larry A. Davis of Hebron; and a sister, Donna Bennett of Valparaiso. His parents, a brother Stanley and a sister, Mary Lorraine Christenson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso with Rev. David Banning officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services.
