ANDERSON, Laura Jean April 5, 1919 - November 9, 2006 After an all-too-lengthy series of health issues, Laura Jean Anderson passed away peacefully at Carewest Sarcee with family by her side on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the age of 87. Laura will be lovingly remembered by her five sons, Robert (Linda), Rick (Val), Ken, Bill (Lynn) and Wayne (Raymonde). Also surviving her are fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her half-sister Vilma Funke in Cayuga, Ontario; many dear nieces and nephews; and three very special sisters-in-law, Gynell Dawson, Irene Anderson and Ona Norhaug. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Ira Freeman Anderson, in February 2003 and her granddaughter, Ida-May, in February of 2005 as well as Laura's parents, three brothers and three sisters. Laura and Ira shared sixty-one years together and raised five sons who were her pride and joy. The love she felt for her family was unconditional. One of her major passions in life was music and she always encouraged lots of singing and dancing. Laura had a beautiful voice and enjoyed playing the piano. The family shared many sing-songs at family get-togethers as well as around the campfire at Water Valley where they would gather often. "When a loved one becomes a memory, a memory becomes a treasure. Treasure the memories." The family wishes to extend a special thanks to everyone in Mom's life for their kind deeds, prayers and presence. We shall mourn her passing but will celebrate her life at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W.
