Laura Jane Allan Brown, 98, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born October 1, 1914 in Bay County, Florida and graduated from Bay High School in 1934. Mrs. Brown taught 5th grade at Callaway Elementary School for one year. She was PTA President for over 8 years, while her children were in school. She served as Sunday School Superintendent and President of the WM's for many years at the First Assembly of God. She was a member of the Callaway Assembly of God. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest N. Brown; daughter, Carol Brown Smith; parents, Charles & Minnie Allan; and seven siblings, Ruford, Charles, Earl, Helen, Harry, Gaylord and Crystal. She is survived by two children, Laura Jane Warren (David Seaborn), Artemus Brown (Deanna); four grandchildren, Reggie Warren, Adrian Warren (Kimberly), Keith Brown (Lineth), Renee Brown; five great grandchildren, Ryan Warren, Tyler Warren, Hunter Warren, Natalia Brown, Jack Brown; and son-in-law, Jack O'Connell. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Stephens and Rev. Dewey Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Charles Allan, Rodney Allan, Jeffery Allan, Gregory Carithers, Randy Carithers, Mark Ritchie and Mark Mercer. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staffs of Emerald Coast Hospice and Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
