BROWN Laura, of Haverhill, MA (formerly of Rutherford, NJ) after a brief illness Laura (Mc Namara) Brown passed into the hands of Our Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born in Bradford (Haverhill) MA on December 12, 1925 to Lawrence I & Laura (Lennox) Mc Namara. After graduating from St. Mary's H.S., Rutherford, NJ and earning a Bachelor's Degree from Marywood College, Scranton, PA in 1948, Laura began a more than thirty-year career as a dietitian at the Polyclinic Hospital in Manhattan and St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, NJ. She lived for many years in Rutherford, NJ and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and was past President of Post 139 in Lyndhurst, NJ before returning to Haverhill in 1997. Laura was predeceased by her loving husband John Brown and five siblings. She will be missed and remembered by her sister Joan Vehrkens of Garfield, NJ brother John M. Mc Namara and his wife Uta, of Vancouver, BC, eight nephews and many friends and relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Bradford, MA on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Ave Rutherford, NJ.
