Johnson, Larry WESTMERE Larry Johnson, 85, was called home on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Born in Birmingham, Ala., he was the son of the late Alex Smith and Reba Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the Capital City Lodge #78 and Bethany Baptist Church (Rev. John Kellikelly). He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sybil A. (Dark) Johnson; his daughter, Lanaer Johnson of Bladensburg, Md.; sons, Larry Jr. (Joan), Jerald D. Johnson, both of Albany and the late Gary A. Johnson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sean and Roseleen; great-grandson, Isaiah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 noon in the Macedonia Baptist Church. Calling hours will be held at the church prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Those who wish may send memorial contributions in Larry's name to the Gary A.
