Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Christianity Baptist Church, Barfield, for Larry "Slouch" Eugene Johnson, 64, Lineville, formerly of Gadsden, who passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Ronnie Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Benefields Funeral Home, Lineville, directing.He was born and raised in Gadsden and moved to Lineville in the late 1970s. Larry was self-employed in the tire business for 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by son, David Denson; and father, Clarence Johnson.He loved his family and friends, was a big talker and loved to tell jokes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Survivors include wife, Patricia Johnson; children, Cindy (Jake) Deese, Pam (Robert) Milstead, Tommy (Martha) Denson, and Timmy (Kathy) Denson; mother, Eva Durham; sisters, Sandra (Alan) Rogers and Tammy Parker; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special aunt, Lucille Clontz; special uncle, Lawrence Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at the funeral home.
