Lyla Elizabeth Miller, 91, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2012, in Ogilvie, MN. Lyla was born on October 9, 1920, the daughter of Vernon A. and Hazel L. (Brockway) Gary in Rochester, MN. Lyla grew up in the Douglas, MN area and graduated from Rochester High School. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Miller on April 7, 1949. Rep. Miller was in the State legislature for four sessions (63-64, 67-68, 69-70, and 71-72) before his untimely death while in office in 1971. He was the love of her life and they were married for nearly 23 years. Lyla and her husband were owners of a 700-acre dairy farm in Wabasha County before becoming the owners of the Idle Hour Restaurant in Wabasha in the mid 1960's. Lyla was a life long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she did mission work for Hope International. Her sweet and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lyla is survived by five children, Rebecca Matos, Kapaa, HI, Kay Harrell, Kapaa, HI, Barbara (Mert) Jensen, Ogilvie, MN, Janet (John) Gercak, Port Orange, FL, and Daniel (Elaine) Miller, Wabasha, MN; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Vernon Charles (1951) and Theodore Vernon (1975); a grandson, William Jason Harrell (1998); a brother, Melvin Gary (1981); and a sister, Marjorie (Gary) Head (2010). Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, MN
