Mr. Louis M. Frederick, a resident of Palisades, NY, died of a heart attack on October 24, 2003. He was born on December 6, 1917 in Springdale, PA to Louis and Georgia Mohan Frederick. Mr. Frederick served honorably in the United States Marine Corps as a sergeant from 1941 to 1945 in Guadalcanal. In 1950, he graduated from Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Frederick was a television director for 29 years with ABC-TV in New York City before retiring in 1980. He was a recipient of three Emmy Awards for his work with ABC Wide World of Sport and was a member of the Directors Guild of America. Mr. Frederick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Thelma Irene, of Palisades, NY; his children: Shawn and his wife, Debbie, of Newburgh, NY; Kian of New York City; Glyn Nixon and her husband, Peter, of Tarrytown,NY; his grandchildren: Kelli Evans and Briana and Lara Nixon; his sister, Virginia Anderson, of Lower Burrell, PA; and loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 1st, 11 am, at the Palisades Presbyterian Church, Washington Spring Road, in Palisades, NY.
