HINSDALE, N.H. -- Lois H. Anderson, 83, of 573 Chesterfield Road, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in Keene after a period of failing health.Mrs. Anderson was born in West Haven, Conn., on Jan. 26, 1924, the daughter of William and Lillian (Platt) Hubbard. She resided there until she moved to Hinsdale in 1988.She is the widow of Richard H. Anderson, who died in 2003, and is predeceased by her sister, Marjorie Linsley.Mrs. Anderson is survived by three sons, William Hodge of Killingworth, Conn., Robert Hodge of Hinsdale, and Bryan Anderson of West Haven, Conn.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; along with many cousins.She was a graduate of West Haven High School, Class of 1942 and retired in 1986 from the University of New Haven, where she was a faculty secretary for over 18 years.Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Monadnock Covenant Church in Keene and a former member of the First Congregational Church in West Haven, where she taught Sunday school for 20 years, was deacon emeritus and served on numerous boards and committees. She has also been a member of the Hinsdale Congregational Church.She belonged to the Gideon Auxiliary in Connecticut and in Brattleboro, Vt., and was a member of the Indian River Grange in Milford, Conn. She also served for many years as the secretary for the Hubbard Family Association and had published an updated Hubbard Genealogy.Memorial services for Mrs. Anderson will be held on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the Monadnock Covenant Church, corner of Base Hill Road and Route 9 in Keene, and on Saturday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church on the Green in West Haven. There are no public calling hours. A private burial service will take place at the family plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery in West Haven.It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, a gift be made in her memory to the Monadnock Covenant Church Building Fund, 90 Base Hill Road, Keene, NH 03431 or to the Book of Remembrance at the First Congregational Church in West Haven.u
