ROBERTS, LINDA LOVE THOMPSON, 43August 20, 1969 - February 21, 2013Gainesville - Mrs. Linda Love Thompson Roberts passed away on February 21, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. She was 43. Born August 20, 1969, in Pensacola, Florida, she grew up in Gainesville. After graduating from Gainesville High School, she attended the University of Florida for two years before transferring to the University of San Diego in California, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She later returned to the university, earned a paralegal certificate, and worked in San Diego for a time before returning to Florida, marrying, and starting a family. Among her many interests and talents, Linda enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangements and making jewelry. In her youth, she also sang and played the piano and tennis. But her proudest accomplishments were her two outstanding sons, Ryan and Michael, who she loved so very much. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Dr. Cecil E. and Ouida T. Love of Gainesville and Mrs. Elizabeth W. Thompson Hughes of Mexico Beach, FL; her sister-in-law Sheila Crocket Roberts of Delray Beach, FL; and her uncle, William J. Rish, Sr. of Port St. Joe, FL. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Thomas J. Roberts; sons Ryan Thomas and Michael Joseph Roberts, all of Fort Myers, FL; her mother and step-father, Jo Nez L. and Joe Capella of Gainesville, FL; her father, Richard E. Thompson of Panama City, FL; her birth father Barry B. Campbell of Carlsbad, CA; half sister Casey Campbell and adoptive brother Alecksey Campbell both of Carlsbad, CA; aunts, Linda Love Ferebee of Parksley, VA, and Carol T. Rish of Port St. Joe, FL; parents-in-law J. George Roberts and Patricia O'Grady Roberts of Fort Myers, FL; brother-in-law George K. Roberts of Pittsburgh, PA; Cousins Paul Uvanitte of Los Angeles, CA; Ashley E., Nathan S., and John M. Roberts of Pittsburgh, PA; Cathy Rish Womac of Alpharetta, GA and William J. Rish, Jr. of Port St. Joe, FL; and step-grandfather H.E. Hughes of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service for Mrs. Roberts will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967. Officiating will be Father Hugh McGuigan and Reverend Danny Austin, DWS. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make donations in memory of Linda Love Thompson Roberts, may do so to the Gulf Coast Humane Society, 2010 Arcadia Street, Fort Myers, FL 33916.
