LAWRENCE LEE MILLER - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Lawrence Lee Miller, 78, passed away Feb. 26, 2015, in the UVM Medical Center in Burlington. Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana Wright Miller of South Burlington; daughters, Roberta Miller Garrett of Huntington, and Kathleen Miller Nilson currently of Lena, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jessica Zeltner, Jesse Garrett, Michelle Hadfield, Travis Garrett, and Melissa Aliaga; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry K Miller and Louise Marie Chabin Miller. Larry, born in Tsing Tao, China, on Oct. 6, 1936, grew up in a military family and has lived in or visited every state including Alaska and Hawaii. He served two years in the Air Force and attended Texas A&M University. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northup University. He moved to Vermont in 1978 from San Marcos, Calif., and has lived in Vermont ever since. He spent the majority of his life as a technical writer, though his true love was driving and working on cars. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing racquetball. He enjoyed people and was friendly to everyone he met. Larry is loved and will be missed. At his request no services are being held.
