LARRY CHARLES JORDAN - WATERBURY - Larry Charles Jordan, 67, of Stowe Street, passed away in the comfort of his family, in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., on Thursday, March 22, 2012. Born in Colchester on Nov. 10, 1944, he was the son of the late Augustus and Leona (Sturgeon) Jordan. Larry attended schools in Milton and then enlisted in the US Navy. Following his discharge, he worked as a truck driver for several years and then later worked as a landscaper in Florida for many years. Retiring in 1999, he moved to Waterbury where he has made his home since. His memberships included the Harry N. Cutting American Legion Post #59 of Waterbury and the Waterbury Area Senior Citizens. In his leisure time Larry enjoyed leather crafting, woodworking, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Larry is survived by a sister, Betty Parent of Edgewater, Fla.; a brother, Albert Jordan of Waterbury; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roger, John, and Nelson Jordan. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to DartmouthHitchcock Medical Center, ICU South, for their care, consideration and compassion for both Larry and the entire family. Also in their thoughts are the folks at the Waterbury Area Senior Center, where Larry spent many hours enjoying their companionship and fellowship. A time of visitation will be held from the Waterbury Senior Center, 14 Stowe Street in Waterbury on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m., where light refreshments will be served.
