KETTERINGHAM Patricia Owens, age 76, died October 16, 2005 as a result of a brief battle with bone cancer. A 35 year resident of Atlantic Beach, she was born in Dunbarton SC. She started her career as a fashion buyer with Neiman Marcus in Dallas after graduating from the University of South Carolina. After living in Texas and Louisiana, she moved to Florida in 1965, obtained her Masters degree from the University of South Florida, and taught within the Duval County School System. She retired in 1991 from Terry Parker High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John P. Ketteringham, and is survived by her sons Barney B. Ketteringham (Buffy) of Jacksonville and John P. Ketteringham (Ann) and their daughter, Kate, of Winter Park, her beagles Maggie and Allie, several close relatives and friends, and thousands of grateful high school graduates. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, October 27, 10:00am, at Mayport Presbyterian Church, 1300 Palmer Ave, Mayport, FL. The family will meet with friends and relatives following. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, the American Cancer Society, or Mayport Presbyterian Church.
