KERRI JANE BARTON JERICHO - Kerri Jane Barton, 43, passed away on Feb. 5, 2009, following complications from heart surgery. Kerri was born in Concord, N.H. in 1965, and lived most of her life in Jericho, Vt., with her devoted parents. Kerri proudly graduated from Burlington High School and always spoke fondly of her experiences in school. She was a Special Olympian for many years, competing in bowling. Kerri had many interests throughout her life and her favorite hobbies included bowling, rug hooking, playing guitar, listening to music, and painting. She was passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles, professional wrestling, baseball, Elvis and her bible. One of Kerri's greatest desires was to have a job, which she achieved in 2008, when she was employed at On the Rise Bakery in Richmond. Kerri loved her family and brought them much joy with her kind spirit, her infectious laughter and her endless stories. Kerri spent her life caring about others, she was truly an angel and those that were touched by her feel incredibly blessed. She developed close relationships with many of her wonderful support-givers through the years and she became instant family and a dear friend to people wherever she went. Kerri leaves behind her loving family, including her parents, Carol and Leo Barton of Jericho; her sister, brother in-law and niece, Dori Barton, Aaron and Meadow Worthley of Huntington; her nephews, Justin and Jason Barton of Jericho; her aunts, Jane Cutting, Ethel Furlong and Sue Gay; her uncles, Harry Cutting and Clinton Gay; several cousins; her very special friends, Diane and Steve Barron (and Asa), "Julia" and "Bombard," Vicky Streeter. Kerri goes on to join her Grammy and Grampa, who she loved with all her heart, and her brother Jeffrey. Calling hours will be held at the Gifford Funeral Home on Friday evening, Feb. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m., in the Huntington Community Church on Main Road, Huntington Center, Vt. Reception to follow service at Church Annex. Donations may be made to Howard Community Services, which provided Kerri with such an incredible opportunity to explore the world and introduced her to wonderful people that are now part of her family.
