WHITTAKER, KENNETH WILLIAM - The death of Kenneth William Whittaker, loving husband of Marion (Jackson) Whittaker occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born 1930 in Saint John he was the son of the late Kenneth Gordon and Winnifred (Hulmes) Whittaker. Ken had worked for the Sugar Refinery and was a self employed truck driver. He was a member of the Monday Night K.V. Bowling League. Ken enjoyed listening to country music and fiddle music and spending time with his family and at the summer cottage in the Belleisle. Besides his loving wife, Marion of 58 years; he is survived by his sons, Alan K.J. (Staicy) of Hampton, Roy W. (Ruthie) of Upper Golden Grove and Ian (Wendy) of Upper Golden Grove; daughters, Shirley McGrattan (Jim Parks) of St. George, Dianne Whittaker of Moncton, Linda Belyea (Burton) of Wickham and Barbara Brown (Charles) of Upper Golden Grove; brothers, Walter (Marilyn) of Saint John and George (Janet) of Norton; sister, Agnes Thompson (Elson) of Saint John; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Frederick and Gordon Whittake; and sister, Shirley Whittaker. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Monday, June 4th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 5th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 6th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Upper Golden Grove.
