COOPER, Kenneth Sidney January 2, 1926 - January 15, 2016 Kenneth Sidney Cooper passed away at the Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River on January 15, 2016 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer Disease. Ken graced the lives of his family, friends and colleagues and will be remembered with affection and many, many a good laugh at recollections of his irrepressible humour and good will. He led a full and dynamic life filled with love for his family, devotion to his friends and an approach to life that motivated others to do their best. He demonstrated leadership skills in his career as a Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Technician at the University Hospital in Saskatoon where he was recognized by his peers and by the participants in his much loved exercise groups as a standard bearer in the field and as a man to trust. Ken was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Frances Ellen Cooper in 2013. Ken and Ellen were devoted companions for 67years and had one son, Kenneth Paul Cooper who lives with his wife, Nicola, in Campbell River. Ken''s three grand-children are Paul in Guelph, Jesse in London, UK, and Sarah in Toronto. His grandchildren brought great joy and pride to Ken. Ken immigrated to Canada with Ellen and Kenneth in 1957 and then settled in Saskatoon until 1986 when they retired to Victoria. Ken''s two great loves beside his family were soccer and "the lab". He was an all-star ''footballer'' from his school days, through signing with Queen''s Park Rangers, as a member of Battersea United and then as a member of several championship teams in Saskatoon. His contribution to the Exercise Physiology Program at U of S generated not only respect but many friends and admirers across Canada.
