Kenneth C. Davis Kenneth C. Davis, 77, a retired pharmacist and educator, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne Davis. The service will be at 2 p.m. EDT Saturday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (893-4177). Mr. Davis was born in Waycross, Ga., and resided in Valdosta, Ga., for many years. After finishing Dasher High School, he graduated from Xavier University, New Orleans, and St. John's University, New York City.He was a former professor of pharmacy at Florida A&M University and further pursued his career in Washington, D.C., Denver and with Project Hope in Kingston, Jamaica. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. On September 12, 1999, he was ordained as a deacon by the General Convention of the Episcopal Church at St. John's Cathedral in Jacksonville.He is a lifetime member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth Curtis Davis III (and wife Renee) of New York City, William Rodney Davis (and wife Teresa) of Dallas and Daryl Christopher Davis (and wife Paula) of Coconut Creek; a daughter, Karen Smith of Philadelphia; his mother, Laura Davis of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; two brothers, Ossie Davis of New Rochelle, N.Y., and William Davis of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
