CARTER, KEITH THOMAS, 85, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Audubon Hospital. He was born September 29, 1924 in Frankfort, KY. He was the son of Arthur and Ruth Wingate Carter. Mr. Carter was elected captain of the Frankfort High School football team his senior year, then joined the Marine Corps and served three years in the South Pacific Islands, the Philippines and the occupation of China during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. Keith was a loss prevention engineer with Royal Insurance Co. and retired after 27 years service. He then worked for Bituminous Insurance Co. for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his son, James Kevin Carter; his daughter, Ann Keith Carter; and seven sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Riney Carter; children, Stephen C. Carter, Nancy K. Carter of New York City. Saturday visitation was held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Another visitation will be held Sunday at Rogers Funeral Home, 507 W. 2nd St., from 5-8 p.m., with the funeral at 1 p.m. Monday and burial to follow in the family plot in Frankfort Cemetery.
