Katie Naomi Walker PERRY - Katie Naomi Walker, 62, a restaurant owner and operator, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002. She is survived by her husband, David Walker of Apopka. The service will be at 3 p.m. EST Thursday at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home chapel in Perry (850-584-4149), with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. EST today at the funeral home.A native of Elba, Ala., Mrs. Walker had been a resident of Perry since 1970, moving from Madison. She was a Baptist and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of the Family Restaurant, later known as Swain's Restaurant, and also was the operator of Pouncey's Restaurant for about a year.She enjoyed shopping, gardening and fishing. She was the daughter of the late Rudell Thomas and Dolly Danford Thomas. Survivors include a her stepfather, Henry Plymel of Perry; a son, Mack L. Rouse of Shady Grove; three daughters, Sheila Hilson of Tallahassee, Nina Gail Roach and JoAnn Tyson (and husband Horace), both of Perry; a great-uncle, the Rev. Jim Danford of Elba; a sister-in-law, Jean Johnson of Perry; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Danny Tyson.
