ObituaryMAY 9, 1962 - MAY 24, 2008Kathy Fischer, 46, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at home in Bokeelia, Florida. Born on May 9, 1962 in West Islip, New York to Catherine and John Zubal, Jr., Kathy shared her birthday with her identical twin sister Karen. She was the eighth of eleven children and her mother's namesake.The Zubal family moved to Pine Island in 1972 and Kathy resided in this community that she loved for the remainder of her life.Kathy was preceded in death by her father, John, Jr., brother, Andy Zubal and sister, Gloria Shivell. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Scott W. Fischer and her sons-each the light of her life-Zachary W. Fischer, 22 and Alexander J. Fischer, 12.Kathy is survived by her mother, Catherine Zubal, her brothers John, Michael and Steven Zubal and her sisters, Diana (Michael) McNamara, Rosemarie Shepherd, Karen (Fred) Jackson, Nancy (Ron) Hudnall and Shirley Winfield.Kathy is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Peg and Dale Fischer of Bokeelia, Florida, and brother-in-law and wife, Chris and Marty Fischer of Toledo, Ohio, as well as 22 nieces and nephews.A funeral mass will be held in the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 12175 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kathy Fischer Memorial Fund would be a blessing to her family.
