Kathryn Lorraine Carter Kathryn Lorraine Carter, age 75 of Okeechobee died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 at Raulerson Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1931 to Bennett and Melbra Hare and has been a resident of Okeechobee for the past 60 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by brothers, Toby, B.C., Hubert, Joe, and Billy Hare and sister, Effie Rhoden. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Phillip Carter of Okeechobee; daughters, Rhonda Hancock of Lake City, Christine Hoy of Okeechobee, Rebecca Valentine of Jupiter, and Grace Carter-Irvine of Fort Pierce. In addition she is survived by brother, John Amerson; sisters, Emma Jane Pendergrass both of Eureka, Patricia Carter of Hollywood, and Margie Hines of Eureka; grandchildren, Phillip, Bryan and Nicole and great grandchildren, Dylan and Katelyn. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses, 8250 Hwy 70 West, Okeechobee at 3:30 p.m. with Brother Craig Godwin officiating. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, 34973.
