Kathleen (Kae) Marie Wilson nee Behrns Kae passed away peacefully at the Extendicare long term care facility in Moose Jaw on August 22, 2009, after a short residence. She is survived by her son Clarke, daughter-in-law, Jane, son Scott, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John C. (Jack), her brother, Lewis Behrns, and her sister, Dorothy Davies, of Milk River. Kae was born in Abernethy, SK to Wellington and Margaret Behrns on January 9, 1920, and attended primary and secondary school in Abernethy along with a legion of Behrns cousins. Following high school graduation, she attended the Reliance School of Commerce in Regina, and worked through the war years as bookkeeper with the Capital Ice Company. She married Jack in 1942 just before he was posted overseas with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Kae kept the books for J. C. Wilson Construction Limited in its early years and later was active in the church circles at St. Andrews United Church. Later the family joined Westminster United Church, where she was for several years a member of the Group Committee of the 20th Westminster Boy Scout Troop and was a veteran of countless bean suppers and other fund raising initiatives. She was also active in the Regina chapter of the Daughters of the Nile. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina.
