<!-- FH = Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home -->Kathleen "Kathy" Todd of Springfield, Mo., went home to God in the afternoon of October 20, 2010. She died peacefully surrounded by her family in St. John's Hospital following a brief illness.Kathy was born in Iowa in 1922. She met her beloved Berdell Todd while in teaching college. After World War II, they married and moved to Southern California where they raised three children who have survived them, Joy Esser, of San Francisco, Calif., Bill Todd, of Springfield, Mo., and Suzie Troncao, of Eldridge, Iowa. Her loving husband of 32-years, preceded her in death in 1978 after they returned to his native Missouri. Kathy went to work for ANPAC Corporation in Springfield in 1978. She is well known for her active service at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield.Kathy is also survived by a sister, Bethel Purtell, of Milwaukee, Wisc.; four devoted grandchildren, Joseph and Sean Troncao, of Davenport, Iowa; Aurora Hartwig DeHeer, of Washington, DC, and Elisa Hartwig, of San Francisco, Calif.; as well as a number of great-grandchildren.A rosary and visitation will take place at 7 p.m., on Friday, September 22, 2010, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. A requiem mass will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday morning, followed by interment at Steele Memorial Cemetery in Hartville, Mo. Kathy requested that memorial donations be made to "The Kitchen, Inc." or Holy Trinity Church's St Vincent de Paul Society.
