Kathleen Smith, age 85, of Leighton, Ala., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery.Mrs. Smith was a native of Lawrence County and a member of the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Smith; her daughter, Sue Smith; and brother, Wilson Masterson.She is survived by her son, James Stinson Smith and wife, Cheri, of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter, Linda Mae Lowry and husband, Dwight, of Leighton; brother, Ray Masterson, of Wolf Springs; sister, Mae Linn Lowery, of Leighton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Pallbearers are Keith Lowry, Bryan Smith, Michael Beasley, John Lowery, Wayne Mitchell and Billy Kidd.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice and Sandra Hodges.Memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice.Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
