Kathleen Henley Smith, 79, of 706 Fairview St., wife of Frank Smith, died June 16, 2002. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late John Irby and Blanche Thomason Henley. Mrs. Smith retired from Her Majesty after 47 years of service, and is a member of First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn. Surviving in addition to her husband is one daughter, Cathi S. Avery, of Fountain Inn; a brother, Tom Henley, of Fountain Inn; three grandchildren, Sam and Chris Smith and Samuel Avery; and three great-grandsons. She was predeceased by two children, Sammy Smith and Frankie Morris; two brothers, Hoyt and Charles Henley; and two sisters, Louise and Margie Carlisle. Mrs. Smith's "Special Friends and CareGivers" were Eliza Wharton, Freddie Pyles, Janie Campbell and Lillie Pyles. Funeral services will be today, June 18, 2002, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Fountain Inn, with the Rev. Mike Bearden officiating. Burial will be at Cannon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to G.H.S. Hospice, 255 Enterprise Drive, Suite 140, Greenville, SC 29615.
