GAMBLE, Kathleen (Kay) LillianAge 100 of White Rock, British Columbia, passed away peacefully in her home into the presence of the Lord on November 25, 2012. Kathleen Brooker was born in Burlington, Ontario to Harry and May Brooker on July 11, 1912. After graduating from teacher's college, Kathleen returned to teach at Brant Street Elementary School in Burlington, Ontario, which she had attended a few years earlier. A highlight of her early life was, as a young teacher, when she won a Mail and Empire trip to England aboard the SS Montcalm. Kathleen married John Joseph Gamble, a young Irish immigrant on July 19, 1941. During WWII Kathleen accompanied John with their new infant son to Halifax while John served in the Halifax Army Hospital. After the war, Kathleen and John settled in Lorne Park, Ontario. Kathleen and John were happily married for 67 years before John passed away in 2008. The focus of her life was a devout faith in Jesus Christ and her love for family and friends. Kathleen and John were sustained by their faith through many challenges in life including the loss of infant son Paul. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband John, son Paul, great- granddaughter Lydia Leigh DeFrank, brother Roy Brooker, sister Queenie May Brooker and parents Harry and May Brooker. Kathleen is survived by three sons, John David Gamble (Vilma Gamble), Courtney, British Columbia, Mark Gamble (Kristine Gamble), Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Tim Gamble of Vancouver British Columbia, grandchildren Jessica, Daniel and Kathryn and five great-granddaughters. Funeral Service and Burial will be held Thursday, November 29, at 1:30 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park with Pastor Ken Strom of White Rock Community Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Victory Memorial Park, 14831-28th Ave, Surrey, BC V4P 1P3. Coincidently and appropriately, the funeral service for Kathleen will be held on what would have been John's 100th birthday. The Gamble family would like to express its sincere and heartfelt thanks to our dear friend and caregiver Benilda Morales and daughters Janice and Eunice. Benilda and daughters have shown the most dedicated and compassionate care imaginable to Kathleen and John for over a decade. Condolences may be offered at www.victoryfuneralcentre.ca
