Kathleen Casey, conjointe de Ray Casey, fille de John et Edith, est décédée le 24 novembre 1917.
CASEY, Kathleen Elizabeth (Kay) November 24, 1917 December 11, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Mother-in Law and Gramma. She is survived by her son Ross, daughter-in-law Karen, grandsons Dan, Sean and Eric, sister Margaret (Peggy); brother Eric, sister in law May; brother Jerry, sister in law Yvonne; cousins in England and New Zealand, many nephews and nieces. Kay was predeceased by her loving husband Ray in 1984; father, John; mother Edith; sister Dorothy (Dot) and brothers Jack and David. Kay was born in London, England and immigrated with her family to Victoria in 1919. She was a virtual encyclopedia of the history of Victoria and its families, especially with regard to the sporting community. She worked in the Yarrows Ship Yard during WW2 and married Ray in 1949, with whom she had the happiest years of her life. She also worked in the Eaton's accounts office for many years. She had an amazing memory and remembered birthdays, facts, interest rates, sports scores, names, etc. with no equal. She knew the birth dates and names of all of her nephews, nieces, their children and grandchildren. She followed, to her last day, her grandsons' sports exploits and was an ardent sports fan on TV. She was a very caring woman who gave generously to charity and sincerely tried to do something about the pain and suffering in the world. She was also a lady who always prided herself in her personal appearance. We will miss Gramma terribly at our family dinners, but know that she will be at peace and once again, after a long absence, be with Ray. At Kay's request, flowers are gratefully declined; donations can be made to the charity of ones choice. Thank you to all the Caregivers at Central Care Home. Family and friends are invited to attend an informal celebration of Kay's life at Ross, Karen and the boys' home at 963 Carolwood Drive on Monday, Dec 20 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. 21810
