Mrs. Kathleen Burke, 85, of Timmerman Ave., St. Johnsville, New York, died Saturday morning, June 5, 2010, at Little Falls Hospital. Born on August 24, 1924 in the City of Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of James and Mary O'Brien. She was a graduate of Niagara Catholic High School and had been a resident of Fort Plain since 1959. Mrs. Burke was a typist for Blue Cross Insurance. She was also a mother and a homemaker. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain. On April 27, 1957 in Bronx, NY, she was married to Richard M. Burke. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Mrs. Burke is predeceased by her brother, Joseph O'Brien. She is survived by her husband, Richard M. Burke of St. Johnsville, NY; daughters, Barbara and Jack Blair of Florida, Nancy Burke and Michael Blair of Oneonta, NY; sons, James Burke and Shawn Steenburgh of Fort Plain, NY, Martin Burke of Fort Plain, NY; stepson, Richard Burke of California; grandchildren, Caroyln Blair, Eric Burke, Liam Blair, Layla Blair, Stephanie Silber, Jessica Silber; great-grandchildren, Christian Burke, Orian Burke and Meadow Burke. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 7, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY, with Father James E.
