HARRIS, Kathleen A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Burton Harris, age 62, of Hartwell, GA passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. Kathy was born on September 21, 1951 in Chamblee, GA to parents William Glenn and Annie Lee Burton. She is preceded in death by parents William Glenn and Annie Lee Burton, nephew James Thomas Burton, and mother and father-in-law Bobby and Sara Jo Harris. After graduating from Winder-Barrow High School she married her high school sweetheart, Mike Harris in July of 1971. Kathy is survived by her husband, Mike Harris, daughter, Christie McReynolds, son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Jennifer Harris; grandchildren, Riley McReynolds and Lauren and Blake Harris. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, James and Wylene Burton of Madison, GA, Genny and Richard Cole of Lavonia, GA, Martha and Richard Davis of Lavonia, GA, Willene Bradford of Loganville, GA, Wilbur and Susan Burton of Winder, GA and many extended family members. Kathy's career began at AT & T and continued on to Glynn Academy in Brunswick, GA and Gwinnett County Public Schools, but her greatest career was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother spending countless hours teaching life's lessons and creating memories for all. Services honoring the life of Kathy Harris will be coordinated by Smith Funeral Home in Winder, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Peevy and Pastor Barry Cole officiating. Interment will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder, GA.
