Katherine M. Williams, 88, of Elmer passed away on December 31, 2009. Mrs. Williams was born in the Elmer area and was the daughter of Joseph & Ella (Simpkins) Garrison. She was a member of the Centerton Free Will Baptist Church and had worked for many years until her retirement at the sewing factory in Elmer. She loved her garden and she spent many hours tending to it and all her hard work paid off one year when a pumpkin she had grown won the biggest pumpkin award. Mrs. Williams was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Patricia) of Washington State, her sisters, Grace Helms, Ethel Kandle and Evelyn Exel all of Pittsgrove, her brothers, Henry Garrison of New Mexico and Carl Garrison of Millville, a sister-in-law, Vera of Elmer, several grandchildren as well as many other family members. Her husband Robert, a brother George and a sister Reba Messer predeceased her. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Adams Funeral Home 111 S. Main St., Elmer, NJ. The viewing will begin at 10am with the service following at 11am. Interment will take place at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
