Joyce Bailey SIMPSONVILLE, SC-- Katherine Joyce Foxworth Bailey, 76, of 107 Ashley Oaks Drive, our sweet Mother and Grandmama, went home to heaven to be with her creator and the love of her life on Saturday January 30, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Sumter, SC, she was the daughter the late Henry Hume and Katherine Mellett Foxworth. She was the widow of Rev. Joseph "Joe" David Bailey with whom she partnered during his ministry in the SC United Methodist Conference. She was a loving and caring housewife, mother and friend, and a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Bryson Bailey of the home; three daughters, Joan Wood and husband Bruce of Gaffney, Ellen Arnold and husband Doyle of Fountain Inn, Jill Strickland and husband John of Hanceville, AL; seven grandchildren, Melany and Erin Bailey, Jeremiah and wife Jessica Wood, Bailey and Joseph Wood, and Connor and Audrey Strickland; two great-grandchildren, John and Eli Wood; two sisters, Sarah Tindal of Sumter and Georgianna Connell of Campobello. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis Foxworth. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Forest Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday February 3, 2010 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in The Stribling Memorial Chapel with Rev. Nelson Stokes officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at 3:00 PM in Sumter Cemetery, Sumter, SC, officiated by Rev. Clarence D. Williams.
