Feb. 23, 1921-March 12, 2006Katherine Elsea Williams went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Oliver and Bethia Young Elsea; and two brothers, Thomas Melvin Elsea and Edgar E. Elsea; grandchildren, Angela Joy Posey and Willie T. Williams Posey.Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Williams is survived by Willie T. Williams, her husband of 65 years; two sons, Ron Williams (Sherron), Florence, Ala., Danny Williams, Florence, Ala.; five daughters, Gayle Glenn (Gerald), Trussville, Ala., Joy Smith (Bob), Tuscumbia, Ala., Margie Franks (Woody), Smokerise, Ala., Kathy Posey (Phillip), Tuscumbia, Ala., and Peggy Williams, Tuscumbia, Ala.; 27 grandchildren, Gerry Glenn (Pam), Mary Gayle Glenn Meyer (Andrew), Geoff Glenn (Jennifer), Ron Williams Jr., Jason Williams, Jenny Williams, Jonathan Williams, Will David Williams, David Smith, William Smith, James Michael Smith, Kimberly Smith, Patrick Smith, Aubrey Smith, Stephen Smith, Brian Franks, Jared Franks, Alan Franks, Eric Franks, Douglas Franks, Kevin Franks, Phil Posey, Andrew Posey, Katherine Posey, John Posey, Matthew Posey and Timothy Posey; and five great-grandchildren, Kirk Meyer, Lucy Katherine Meyer, Kylee Glenn, Nina Grace Glenn and Darcy Leigh Glenn.Katherine and Willie T. Williams were the original owners of Katherine's Cakes and Catering in Muscle Shoals, Ala. They made wedding cakes and catered for many years.Katherine Williams was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Chattanooga, Tenn. As a young girl, Mrs. Williams experienced one of the worst tragedies of her life when her family's house burned to the ground. Her family moved to a house next door to Willie T. Williams in Birmingham, Ala., where they met and later married.She said this was one of the most wonderful things that ever happened in her life. Mrs. Williams has always used this lesson to teach her children that regardless of what happens, the Lord can use the circumstances for good.Katherine and Willie T. Williams accepted Christ as their savior June 7, 1948. They have celebrated this date as their second birthday. Soon after they were saved, Mr. Williams was called to preach. He preached at numerous churches and is now the current pastor of Muscle Shoals Bible Church.Mrs. Williams has been an encouraging wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We will miss her so much but look forward to seeing her again someday in heaven.Grandsons will be pallbearers.VVV
