April 11th, 1942 to May 30, 2011It is with great sadness we announce the death of Karen Walker (Day) following a courageous battle with cancer.Karen was born in Port Alberni BC, on April 11, 1942. Karen was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Walker and her father Francis Day. Left to mourn are her loving spouse of 18 years, Abe Giesbrecht, her mother Kathleen Day; her children Ernie (Deborah), Clint and Angela; her sisters Pamela (David), Daphne (Steve), Coral (Grant) Colleen (Craig) and Holly (Terry); her grandchildren Megan, Kenny and Nikita; and Abe's children Angela and Wade. She leaves many, many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A memorial service, led by Rev. George Pell, will be held June 24th at 2pm at Trinity Anglican Lutheran Church 4766 Angus St. in Port Alberni. No flowers by request, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
