Quinn, a resident of Harriman, NY and a lifetime resident of Orange and Rockland counties, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. She was 66 years old. Daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Kilpatrick Bogardus, she was born April 29, 1947 in Newburgh, NY. Karen worked for Konica Minolta in Ramsey, NJ for 32 years, most recently as Commissions Manager.Survivors include her companion Paul F. Michael, at home; her daughters, Heather Birch and her husband Brian of Florida, NY, Lisa Moranz and her husband Aaron of Chester, NY, Valerie Trischitta of Brooklyn, NY; her brother, Richard Bogardus and his companion, Terry Earl of New Windsor, NY; and her grandchildren, Julia and Colin Birch.Besides her family, Karen's passions included gardening, reading and travelling. Her smile and constant good cheer were well known to her family, friends and co-workers.Karen's family would like to extend special thanks to the Oncology department at Crystal Run Healthcare for their considerate and compassionate care over the last two years, as well as the staff at Hospice of Orange and Sullivan for their kindness.Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 4th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th in the Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Yee officiating.
