Kevin Murphy, 62, husband of Maryann Hanley Murphy, of Cedar Post Court, Seneca, SC, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at his residence. A native of Port Chester, NY, Mr. Murphy was the son of the late John and Margaret Burns Murphy. He was retired from the Newburgh, NY Board of Education where he was an English teacher. Mr. Murphy was Secretary of the Newburgh Teacher's Association, member of the Newburgh Retired Teacher's Association and member of the N. Y. State United Teacher's Association. In addition to his wife, Mr. Murphy is survived by sons Joseph Murphy, Portland, OR and Michael Murphy and wife, Kelly, West Wardsboro, VT. In addition to his parents, Mr. Murphy was predeceased by brother, John Murphy. Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, SC with calling hours one hour prior to the service. A memorial service will also be held in N.Y. at a later date.
