DALE, KENNETH W., passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a retired cabinet maker, having worked on several local projects, including the original Galt House and Belle of Louisville. He graduated from the Ahrens Trade High School. During World War II he served in the Army Corps. of Engineers in the Aleutian Islands and Europe received a special commendation from the French government in Paris, France. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and music and he loved animals. He was a past president of the Hugenot Society and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He loved the pick-up bands around town where he played his "gut-bucket". He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Dale. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Mary Kielkopf Burks Dale; two stepdaughters, April Bond (David) and Sherrill Parmley of Manassas, VA; three stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Arch L Heady Westport Road with burial to follow in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association
