KENNETH P. ST. GERMAIN - BURLINGTON - Kenneth P. St. Germain died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston. He was born on Dec. 27, 1931. After graduating from Burlington High School, he served in the Korean War Theatre as a member of the United States Air Force's "543rd." Upon his return home, he earned a B.A. and M.A. in education from the University of Vermont and became a member of Kappa Phi Kappa. In 1963 and 1964 he studied and became a registered silversmith of Royal Goldsmith's Hall in London, England, while working for the Heritage Foundation of Deerfield, Mass., where he was then a fellow. Ken retired in 1994 after almost 40 years of teaching history at Bement School, the Tilton Academy, Arlington High School and the Essex Junction Educational Center. He was an active member of the United States Company of Military Historians and a contributing consultant to the website: "Vermont in the Civil War." Ken is survived by a brother, Irving St. Germain of Oregon; his wife of 59 years, Beverly Anne; and a son, Paul. Memorial services will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Burlington at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012. The Very Rev. Kenneth Poppe, Dean, will preside.
