RAYMOND June Rose (King) Raymond, RN, age 78, of Stratford, entered into God's Kingdom on Tuesday evening, April 27, 2004, surrounded by love, music, family and friends at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Daughter of the late Albert Elmo and Elizabeth Rose King, she was born on June 9, 1925, in Bridgeport. She attended Franklin Grammar School, and was a Stratford High School graduate. Mrs. Raymond graduated from the St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1946. June dedicated her life to caring for others and maintaining dignity for her patients in times of illness. Early in her nursing career, June cared for terminally ill patients as a private duty nurse. Later in her career, she was employed with the Connecticut Mental Health Center and the Bridgeport Mental Health Center as a psychiatric and detox nurse. June was the beloved and cherished mother of Joyce Layman and her husband, Thomas, of Stratford, Michael D. Raymond and his wife, Patricia, of New Haven, and Jeanne R. Aaron of Wallingford, and her husband, Garry Aaron, of Hamden. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Jessica Layman, Natalie Franze and her husband, James, Rebecca Layman, Michael D. Raymond Jr. and his wife, Debora, Christopher Raymond, Kathryn Raymond and Philip Aaron; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Thomas and Shannon Franze; brother, Albert King and his wife, Ann; dear friend, Carol Rosenthal; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She had been predeceased by her son, Robert Raymond; and her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Frederick Zapperoli. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 11:15 a.m. in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at noon at Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
