June Philippa Wilson - died January 11, 2015 at the age of 84. Formerly of Vancouver, BC, June was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England in 1930, and came to Canada in 1960 as an exchange teacher. She is survived by brother David, sisters Rosemary Le Mare, Felicity King, and Elisabeth Evarts. Her presence in the public education system is very well known as she had over 56 years of teaching experience both locally and provincially, including her work with the Ministry of Education as chair of the marking committee. In 2008, June was also honoured by having the Elphinstone Secondary Library (Gibsons, BC) rededicated in her name.June was a teacher, a coach and a mentor to thousands of students in her 38 years at Elphinstone Secondary (September 1968-June 2007). She inspired in her students a love of literature and an interest in lifelong learning.Thank you, Miss Wilson, for your dedication to the education of the children of our community.Service to be held on February 1st, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Kingsway Foursquare Church, 4061 Kingsway Avenue, Burnaby, BC.
