Mrs. June Marian Walker June 18, 1938 - January 22, 2009 70, Arborstone Enhanced Care, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 22, 2009. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Frances (Delaney) Miller. June worked for Sears at the West End Mall, Halifax, for 20 years and she also worked for Airpage of Halifax until her retirement. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great comfort and joy, she lived her life surrounded by the love and joy they brought. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survived by son, Darren (Debbie) Walker, Halifax; sisters, Dale Walker, Halifax; Denise (Terry) Iedema, Dartmouth; brother, "Teddy" (Cheryl) Miller, Halifax; sisters, Marie Smith, Halifax; Edna (Carl) Power, Halifax; Florence (Paul) Bellefontaine, Halifax; Brenda Lee (Jack) Cameron, Halifax; and several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Julie, Angie, David "Bubba", Robert, Michael, Trevor, Cory, Chris, Amber; eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Walker and daughter, Doreen Walker. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 28, at 2 p.m. from Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., followed by a reception. Burial will take place in Oakridge Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or The Lung Association.
