Jones, Julia Snow, 84, passed away Monday, January 17, 2005 in her home. Fort Lauderdale has lost one of the living links to its early history. She was the daughter of 1920's Mayor Russell G. Snow. Julia never let us forget where our city came from or where it should head. Born on July 6, 1920, the fifth child of seven and oldest daughter. An active founding member of the Sailboat Bend Civic Association, she helped turn around a neighborhood rife with crime and victimized by poor city planning into a historic district which is the pride of the city. An active member of the First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church, 101 SE 3 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sailboat Bend Civic Asso., PO BOX 1021, Ft. Lauderdale 33302. Arrangements entrusted to: Fairchild Funeral Home 299 N.
