WATERFORD Julia L. Juju Peterson of South Street went home to the arms of the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 9, 2006 with her loving family at her side at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born in Waterford on January 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina Zacarola Reo and stepdaughter of the late Americo Reo. She was educated in Waterford and was a lifelong resident. Julie had been employed as a seamstress at Jones Manufacturing Co., Cluett & Peabody and Standard Manufacturing Co. and for the past 20 years by Specialty Silicone Products in Ballston Spa. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford and a member of the Columbiettes. Julie was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was very important to her. She was a caregiver to her mother for over 13 years until her death in 2004. She enjoyed the ocean and vacationing with her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Peterson. She is mother of Barbara Schwartz and her husband Michael of Waterford; sister of Ned Reo and his wife Patricia of Saratoga Springs and the late Maria Reo. She was grandmother of Stephanie Pakatar of Waterford, Michele Daus and her husband Taylor of Stillwater and great-grandmother of Shane Pakatar, Sara, Amy and Emily Daus. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
