WALLINGFORD - Judyth Fucci Parks-Harris, 72, of North Haven, formerly of Wallingford, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Masonicare Health Center. She was the beloved wife of Robert Alan Harris.Judyth, affectionately known as "Miss Judie" was born in Meriden, Oct. 26, 1939, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Marion "Mimi" Dringoli Fucci. She studied dance in New York City and founded the Judyth Parks Academy of Dance Arts in 1957 which served Wallingford, Cheshire, Northford and Southington. Throughout her lifetime of teaching dance Miss Judie profoundly impacted the lives of many with her teaching of personal responsibility, pride, motivation, discipline and grace. Miss Judie was a member of Dance Masters of America and was an enthusiastic Patron of the Arts, Broadway and local theatres. She choreographed many musicals at Lyman Hall High School and was a very active founding member of the Cheshire Community Theater. She loved to travel the world and fully took part in every experience each trip had to offer, ranging from Elephant trekking in Thailand, to cruising the Nile. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church and St. Barnabas Church.In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Courtney Beth Parks Billings and Jeffrey Billings, of Wallingford; her two grandchildren, Sydney Parks Billings and Phoenix Jeffrey Billings; her sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn C. and Michael P. Wanat, of Wallingford; her nephews and nieces, Bryan M. Wanat, Travis M. Wanat and his wife, Christine, Chad M. Wanat, Christopher Harris, Jonathan Harris, Kimberly York and Jennifer Harris; and her two brothers-in-law, Chuck Harris and his wife, Shirley of New York, and Lionel "Lee" Harris ,of Wallingford.The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the love, support and friendship from her Primary Care Physician, Dr. Bruce Brumberger and his wife, Barbara.Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Friday, Jan. 6, from 3 until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m. directly at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St., Wallingford. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
