Judy Ruth Smith, 69, of Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late James and Nellie (Budd) Smith. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and a former cook in Toronto. She enjoyed Old Mill Blue Grass festivals and campouts and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Judy will be sadly missed by her children, Terry Short, Grant Short (Jen), Charlene Frizzell (Ron) and Doug Short (Murielle), all of Moncton; grandchildren, Trevor, Ashley, Harley, Melody, Brandon, Jessica and Ryan; great grandchildren, Jailyn and Adrianna; brother, James Smith (Kay) and sister, Olive Mercer. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Sharon. A gathering for friends and family to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. If so desired, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care).
