OKEECHOBEE - Judy C. Smith, of Yeehaw Junction, died at home on July 11, 2014. Born in Indiantown to Johnny and Rosetta (Treadway) Ownby, Judy was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee. She treasured her time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her past-times included horses, knitting and crocheting. Judy was preceded in death by her brother, James "Buddy" Franklin. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Rob Smith; son, Robert Smith; daughters, Rose (Bryan) Hinson and Nancy (Scott) Smith, all of Okeechobee; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Teddy (Janice) Ownby of Ga., Steve (Molly) Ownby of Okeechobee, and Johnathan Ownby of Dade City, Fla.; sisters, Debbie (Mike) Tapley of Ga. and Linda (Joe) Loudermilk of Okeechobee. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 10 a.m. until service time of 11 a.m. at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home with Paul M. Buxton officiating.
