BENNINGTON -- Judy Adams, 71, a resident of Walloomsac Apartments on School Street in Bennington died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at the Crescent Manor Care Center following a long illness.She was born in Waterbury, Conn., March 24, 1936. She was the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Vought) Miller. She received her education in Woodbury, Conn.Judy was a Foster Parent to many children. Her main focus was raising children. Her foster children considered her their parent. Judy was also active with the Headstart Program and the American Red Cross.Judy’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.Survivors include her children Roy Pleasant of Bennington, Garry Pleasant of Mooseup, Conn., Ronald Pleasant of Watertown, Conn., David Pleasant of Thomaston, Conn., Dennis Pleasant of East Haven, Conn., Debbie King of Bennington and Keith Pleasant of Bennington She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, a brother, Russell Miller, of Southbury, Conn., two sisters, Gail Daddona of Oakville, Conn. and Nancy Benson of Oxford, Conn.She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amy Pleasant.The family will receive friends at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.If friends desire, contributions in memory of Judy Adams may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bennington County through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
