A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, September 21st, in Saint Josephs Church, 130 Common Street, Belmont for Mrs. Judith A. (Goodwin) Walker, of Waltham. Burial followed in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Mrs. Walker died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a year long battle with sarcoma. She was 65. Judy was born in Waltham on October 18, 1945, the daughter of the late Frank and Evangeline Pauline (Belliveau) Goodwin, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham. She later earned degrees in retailing from Lasell College in Newton and her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. It was at UMass that Judy met her future husband, Harold 'Jerry' Walker, a Newton native. Judy and Jerry were married on November 15, 1969 at Saint Mary's Church in Waltham where the couple settled to raise their family. Judy became a human resources executive for the Jordan Marsh Company which later became part of Macy's Department Stores. After a 38 year career she retired in 2007. Her greatest joys in life were found during simple and quiet moments with her family and friends | her greatest joy coming from time spent with her grandchildren. She was also a talented gardener and seamstress who enjoyed swimming in the good weather and reading a good book any time of the year. Judy leaves her husband of 42 years, Harold 'Jerry' Walker; her children, Jodi L. Walker and her husband, Jeffrey R. Crisan, of Belmont and Amy W. Brady and her husband, Christopher W., of Old Saybrook, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Nate and Tommy Crisan and Ella and Mia Brady; her brothers, David Goodwin and his wife, Camille, of Lexington and Peter Goodwin and his wife, Rose, of Tewksbury and many nieces and nephews. To honor Judy's memory and in keeping with her hope to find a cure for sarcoma please make a memorial donation to The Sarcoma Center Research Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
