Avis de décès de Judith-Brown Carter


TOMPKINSVILLE CARTER, JUDITH BROWN, 71, died November 2, 2005, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was the beloved wife of Dr. James E. Carter, a family physician in Tompkinsville, KY. They were married on August 19, 1956, in Columbia, KY. Mrs. Carter was born in Columbia, KY, on October 8, 1934. She was the daughter of Thomas Carlisle Brown and Mary Catherine Nease Brown. She graduated from Columbia High School. She attended Linsey Wilson College and was a cheerleader there. During that time, she won the South Central Kentucky Beauty Contest and was a finalist in the Mountain Laurel Festival Pageant. She later graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy. She was a licensed pharmacist, continued to serve in this capacity at the time of her death, and was a member of the Kentucky Pharmacy Association. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Tompkinsville First Baptist Church, and was active in Republican politics. She was a member of the Monroe County Republican Women's Club, and served two terms on the Tompkinsville City Council. She also was active in other community activities She formerly served as both a Brownie Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, and a Cub Scout Leader in Tompkinsville, as well as being a member of the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Carter also had a passion for the arts and enjoyed painting at times during her life. Other than Dr. Carter, she is survived by four children and seven grandchildren. Survivors include her children, James Carter Jr., Smyrna TN, Tom Carter, Bowling Green, KY, Cindy Crowe, Bowling Green, KY, and Mary Catherine McKeever, Glasgow, KY. Her grandchildren are Taylor Crowe, Laura Catherine Carter, Parker Carter, Adam Carter, Rebecca Evelyn Carter, Carter Allen McKeever, and Anna Claire McKeever. Funeral services will be held at the 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tompkinsville First Baptist Church, November 5, 2005. Internment will be at the Evans Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2005, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, in Tompkinsville, KY. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the National Stroke Prevention Association.
